The UNC Greensboro Spartans and the VMI Keydets will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
UNC Greensboro saunters into this one at 13-2 overall. The Spartans are sitting on a six-game win streak, taking out Elon, Coppin State, North Alabama, Radford, Samford and Chattanooga in that time.
In the Mocs game, UNC Greensboro’s Isaiah Miller was the top scorer on 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. Eric Hamilton put up a double-double for the Spartans as well, logging 15 points and 10 rebounds in that game.
Over on the VMI side, they’re 6-8 this season. The Keydets are just 1-6 in their last seven games, beating North Alabama while falling to American, Longwood, Virginia Tech, Chattanooga, Presbyterian and Samford.
In the Bulldogs game, VMI’s top scorer was Bubba Parham, with 24 points, three assists and two rebounds. Jake Stephens and Myles Lewis each provided 11 points for the Keydets, with a combined five rebounds and three assists.
NC-Greensboro are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 2-5 ATS in the last seven Saturday games. The Spartans are 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and the over is 38-17-1 in their last 56 road games.
Meanwhile, the Keydets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the Southern. The over is 5-0 in VMI’s last five overall and 4-0 in their last four following a straight-up loss.
Since the loss to Kentucky, the Spartans have been cruising along quite well, and they’re utilizing their offensive weapons wisely to keep themselves in control of games.
I don’t see VMI getting in the way too much here, so I’m going to stick with UNC Greensboro on the cover.
