Wake Forest Demon Deacons +21.5
The Duke Blue Devils and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will meet up on the college basketball court Tuesday.
Duke rolls into this one at a smooth 12-1 on the season. Since their one loss to Gonzaga, Duke has taken out Indiana, Stetson, Hartford, Yale, Princeton, Texas Tech and Clemson in succession.
In the Clemson matchup, Duke’s Zion Williamson led the team with a double-double on 25 points and 10 rebounds. RJ Barrett came close to doubling up for the Devils with 13 points and nine boards, and Jack White added 12 points and six rebounds.
Over on the Wake Forest side, they’re 7-6 this season. The Deacons are just 1-3 over their last four outings, beating Cornell and falling to Tennessee, Gardner-Webb and Georgia Tech in that span.
In the loss to the Yellow Jackets, Wake’s Brandon Childress led the team on 28 points with three assists and one rebound. Jaylen Hoard had a nice line as well for the Demon Deacons on 19 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
The Devils are 4-0 ATS in their last four following a straight-up win and 4-0 ATS in their last four overall. Duke is 6-1 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 versus the ACC.
Meanwhile, the Deacons are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games and 9-21 ATS in their last 30 overall. Wake is 5-16 ATS in their last 21 versus the ACC and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Tuesday games.
Since that 89-87 loss to Gonzaga, Duke hasn’t been messing around. The Devils have crushed all comers over their last seven games by at least 11 points each, with Texas Tech getting the closest at 69-58.
Wake Forest in all likelihood of course won’t get anywhere near Duke’s final tally here, but the line is thick enough, and the Deacons offense is good enough, that I think they can cover. I’ll take Wake in this one.
