The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons meet in ACC college basketball action from the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

The North Carolina Tar Heels will look to rebound after suffering a 69-61 loss to Virginia in their last outing. Coby White led the Tar Heels with 17 points along with 3 threes while Cameron Johnson came right behind with 16 points along with 7 rebounds and Garrison Brooks added 12 points with 8 boards to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for UNC in the losing effort. Kenny Williams had 9 points with a team-high 4 assists and a pair of blocks while Luke Maye added 4 points and a team-high 11 rebounds in the defeat for the Tar Heels. White leads North Carolina with an average of 16 points and 4.2 assists per game while Maye leads the Tar Heels in rebounding with 9.7 rebounds per game this season. As a team, North Carolina is averaging the 2nd-most points per game in the country, scoring 87.2 points per game on 46.9% shooting from the field, 37.5% from behind the 3-point line and 75.2% from the foul line this season.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will look to rebound from an 88-66 loss to Florida State in their last outing, giving the Demon Deacons their 7th loss in their last 8 games. Chaundee Brown led the Demon Deacons with 20 points on 7 of 12 shooting with 3 threes while Brandon Childress added 11 points with 3 triples of his own along with a team-high 4 assists as the only other Wake Forest player to score in double figures in the losing effort. Jaylen Hoard added 7 points and a team-high 6 rebounds while Olivier Sarr had 5 points to match his 5 rebounds in the losing effort. Childress leads Wake Forest with an average of 15.1 points and 4.1 assists per game while Hoard leads the Demon Deacons on the glass with 8.3 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Wake Forest is averaging 68.9 points per game on 40% shooting from the field, 30.5% from behind the arc and 72.8% from the foul line this season.

North Carolina is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games following a loss. Wake Forest is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 6-22 ATS in their last 28 conference games while the under is 13-3 in their last 16 games following a loss. The underdog is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings between these two teams.

This feels like a lot of points to lay with North Carolina on the road, as the underdog has had a ton of success in this matchup, the last 4, 5 of the last 6 and 11 of the last 13 meetings being decided by 16 points or less. I pick that number because the line is at 17 at the time that I’m posting this. However, North Carolina has gone 5-0 on the road in conference play and are winning games by 15 points per game on the road this season. A lot of those teams I consider to be better than Wake Forest might I add, so with that said, I’ll lay the points with North Carolina in what I see the Tar Heels using as a bounce back game here.
