The Los Angeles Kings take the ice at the Washington Capitals in a Monday NHL tilt.

The Los Angeles Kings come off a 5-4 OT loss at Boston for their second straight loss. Alex Iafallo, Anze Kopitar, Nate Thompson and Oscar Fantenberg all lit the lamp for Los Angeles. Nine different players logged points for the Kings and Jonathan Quick gave up five goals on 33 shots to get the loss.

Charlie McAvoy, Danton Heinen, David Krejci and Brad Marchand scored in regulation for Boston with Patrice Bergeron netting the winner in OT.

Bergeron and Torey Krug logged two helpers each for the Bruins and Tuukka Rask picked up the win with four goals allowed on 29 shots.

The Washington Capitals were denied a third straight win in a 5-4 OT loss to visiting Florida on Saturday. Brett Connolly scored twice for Washington with Lars Eller and Evgeny Kuznetsov also adding markers. Andre Burakovsky assisted twice for the Capitals and Braden Holtby allowed all  five goals on 31 shots to fall to 19-13-4.

The balanced Florida offense received regulation goals from Frank Vatrano, Keith Yandle, Colton Sceviour and Derick Brassard.

Mike Hoffman won it in overtime for the Panthers while Aaron Ekblad assisted twice to make the 26 save effort of Roberto Luongo a winner.

Kings are 2-6 in their last 8 vs. a team with a winning record and over is 6-1 in Kings last 7 overall and over is 6-1 in Kings last 7 games as an underdog. Capitals are 3-7 in their last 10 vs. Western Conference and Capitals are 3-9 in their last 12 overall and over is 6-2 in Capitals last 8 overall.

Favorite is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and Kings are 12-3 in the last 15 meetingsand home team is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings.

Both teams are 14-6 favoring the over in their last ten so I expect goals to be scored…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
