Cal Poly Mustangs (1-1) at Washington State Cougars (1-1)
|Date & Time||Monday November 19, 2018, 9:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Washington State Cougars -11.5 -- Over/Under: 144.5
The Cal Poly Mustangs and the Washington State Cougars will be meeting up at Beasley Coliseum Monday on the college basketball circuit.
Cal Poly enters this game with a 1-1 record so far. The Mustangs powered out an 82-75 victory over Menlo in their opener, but then dropped their second game to Arizona 82-61.
In the Wildcats game, Cal Poly guard Marcellus Garrick was the only team player in double-figures with 16 points, three rebounds and one assist. Kuba Niziol was the next-highest scorer on nine points and four rebounds.
Over on the Washington State side, they’re currently 1-1 this year also. The Cougars opened things up with an 89-72 win over Nicholls State, but then fell to Seattle in game two 78-69.
In the Seattle matchup, Washington State’s Isaiah Wade doubled up on 17 points and 10 rebounds, and CJ Elleby had a solid line as well on 12 points and eight rebounds. Viont’e Daniels and Carter Skaggs each provided 11 points for the Cougars.
Cal Poly is 18-42-2 ATS in their last 62 overall and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games. The Mustangs are 1-11-2 ATS in their last 14 road games and the under is 5-1-1 in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, Washington State is 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games. The Cougars are also 7-2 ATS in their last nine overall and the over is 4-0 in their last four home games.
Cal Poly was most certainly overmatched in that Arizona game, which is part of the reason the numbers look so bad. It’ll take a few more games before we see what their roster really looks like, and this is a good matchup to start that out on.
All things considered though, I like Washington State to take the cover here.
