The Oregon State Beavers and the Washington State Cougars meet in Pac-12 college basketball action from the Wallis Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

The Oregon State Beavers will be out to snap a 3-game losing streak after an 81-76 overtime loss to Washington in their last outing. Tres Tinkle led the Beavers with 31 points on 10 of 20 shooting with 3 threes and 10 rebounds for the double-double while Kylor Kelley added 16 points on 7 of 8 shooting with 9 rebounds as the only other Oregon State player to score in double figures in the losing effort. Ethan Thompson added 9 points with a team-high 5 assists as well in the loss. Tinkle leads the Beavers with an average of 20.5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists per game this season. As a team, Oregon State is averaging 73.5 points per game on 46.6% shooting from the field, 32.5% from behind the arc and 74.1% from the foul line this season.

The Washington State Cougars could use a win to snap a 4-game losing streak after a 72-61 loss to Oregon in their last outing. Robert Franks led the Cougars with 16 points along with 7 rebounds, a pair of steals and a pair of blocks while Marvin Cannon chipped in 12 points with 7 boards and CJ Elleby added 10 points with 7 rebounds as well to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Washington State in the loss. Ahmed Ali also chipped in 9 points with a team-high 5 assists as well in defeat. Franks leads Washington State in scoring with 21.5 points per game while Elleby leads the Cougars in assists and rebounds with 6.9 rebounds and 3 assists per game this season. As a team, Washington State is averaging 75.5 points per game on 45.2% shooting from the field, 36.7% from behind the arc and 75.3% from the foul line this season.

Oregon State is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 15-7 ATS in their last 22 conference games while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games following a loss. Washington is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 conference games. Oregon State is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams at Washington State.

A home dog has the potential to be tempting, but Washington State has been playing so bad for the most part during conference play, that the points don’t hold any value to me. Betting against Washington State has paid off more often than it hasn’t, and while laying points on the road with a team that’s lost 3 in a row isn’t a great idea, the fact is that Oregon State has been covering numbers on the road left and right and have had the upper hand ATS in this matchup for the last few seasons now. I’ll lay the points as more of a fade from Washington State than anything else.

Pick:
Oregon State -6
