West coast college basketball pits the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos at the Washington Huskies.

The surging UC Santa Barbara Gauchos have ripped off five straight wins after routing Sacramento State 75-58 on Thursday. UC Santa Barbara was in control from the midway point of the first half behind a 47.1%-40.8% shooting edge with a 20-14 advantage at the charity stripe.

The balance Gauchos saw Amadou Sow and Ar’Mond Davis  score 14 points apiece and combine for eleven rebounds on 10-20 from the floor with Jaquori McLaughlin adding 13 points and six pulls on 3-5 from distance and 4-6 at the line. Robinson Idehen gave UCSB ten points and four pulls on 4-5 accuracy followed by a nine point, six rebound effort from Sekou Toure.

The Washington Huskies bounced back from a two point loss to Minnesota to crush Eastern Washington 83-59 on Tuesday. Washington burned the nets at 51.9% which easily overcame the Eagles 28.8% shooting and 12 extra shot attempts. 

Dominic Green led all scorers with 25 points and five pulls on 9-13 marksmanship including 7-10 from beyond the arc with David Crisp giving the Huskies 14 points on 5-7 from the field. Washington received eleven points and five boards on 4-8 shooting.

Over is 11-1 in UCSB last 12 Sunday games and over is 12-4 in UCSB last 16 road games and UCSB are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games. Washington are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win and over is 5-1 in Washington  last 6 vs. Big West.

Washington is the bigger name in the better conference but the Gauchos will put up a fight…
