The Idaho State Bengals will travel to the Dee Events Center to take on the Weber State Wildcats this Thursday night in College Basketball action.

The Idaho State Bengals improved to 7-7 (3-2 Big Sky) on the season after defeating the Sacramento State Hornets, 72-70, this past Saturday night. Idaho State trailed by a 56-49 margin midway through the 2nd half, however, was solid Defensively, down the stretch and was able to pull away an 8-0 Bengals run gave Idaho State a 7065 lead with :41 seconds left in regulation. Idaho State shot 42.4% from the field and outrebounded Sacramento State by a 36-31 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Bengals was Kelvin Jones who had 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.

On the season, Idaho State is averaging 76.0 ppg on 44.4% shooting from the field. The Bengals are averaging 10.5 three-pointers per game on 38.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Idaho State has been led by Brandon Boyd (13.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 4.4 apg), Balint Mocsan (11.1 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.1 spg), Chier Maker (9.5 ppg, 6.7 rpg), and Kelvin Jones (8.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.5 bpg).

Defensively, Idaho State is allowing their opponents to average 76.6 ppg on 46.2% shooting from the field. The Bengals have a rebound margin of 0.7 and a turnover margin of -1.4.

The Weber State Wildcats improved to 10-6 (4-1 Big Sky) on the season after defeating the Portland State Vikings, 95-88 in OT, this past Saturday. Weber State was held scoreless for the final 3:45 of regulation which helped Portland State to force OT, however, was able to pull away for the victory after closing out the final 1:44 of overtime on an 7-0 run. Weber State shot 57.1% from the field and outrebounded Portland State by a 41-32 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Brekkott Chapman who had a double-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and a steal.

On the season, Weber State is averaging 83.0 ppg on 47.3% shooting from the field. The Wildcats are averaging 7.3 three-pointers per game on 35.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Weber State has been led by Jerrick Harding (21.2 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.7 spg), Cody John (15.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.8 apg), Brekkott Chapman (12.5 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 2.3 apg, 1.0 spg, 2.1 bpg), and Zach Braxton (11.1 ppg, 7.6 rpg).

Defensively, Weber State is allowing their opponents to average 75.1 ppg on 42.8% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of 2.0 and a turnover margin of -0.7.

The Bengals are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games, however, just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS win. The Wildcats are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.

Idaho State has won 3 of their last 5 games and although their defense has struggled as they currently rank 282nd in scoring defense, the Bengals offenses has been able to put up some solid points on the board as they rank 124th in scoring offense, 27th in 3P-FG%, and 43rd in FG%. Weber State has won 5 of their last 6 games have counted on their 27th ranked scoring offense to help make up for a defense that ranks just 261st in scoring defense & T-283rd in steals per game.

Weber State is the better team in this one, however, I’m concerned that the Wildcats defense will struggled agianst the Bengals three-point attack, concerning the Bengals ranked T-11th in the country in three-pointers made per game. I think Weber State wins the game, however, as Idaho State has a winning record ATS on the road this season, I think the Bengals will do enough on the offensive end to cover with the points.

Pick:
Idaho State Bengals +8
