The Montana Grizzlies will travel to the Dee Events Center to take on the Weber State Wildcats this Thursday night in College Basketball action.

The Montana Grizzlies won their 7th straight game and improved to 17-6 (10-2 Big Sky) on the season after defeating the Eastern Washington Eagles, 75-74, this past Saturday night. Montana allowed Eastern Washington to fight back from a 66-54 deficit with just 7:14 left in regulation to tie the game late, however, Montana was able to secure the victory after Michael Oguine gave the Grizzlies the lead for good after hitting the 2nd of two FT’s with just :29 seconds left in regulation. Montana shot 47.2% from the field and 43.5% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Grizzlies was Sayeed Pridgett who had 19 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and a steal.

On the season, Montana is averaging 77.0 ppg on 48.7% shooting from the field. The Grizzlies are averaging 8.2 three-pointers per game on 37.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Montana has been led by Jamar Akoh (15.5 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 1.7 apg, 2.0 spg), Ahmaad Rorie (15.2 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.6 apg, 1.1 spg), Michael Oguine (13.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.0 apg), and Sayeed Pridgett (12.9 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.4 spg).

Defensively, Montana is holding their opponents to an average of 68.1 ppg on 42.7% shooting from the field. The Grizzlies have a rebound margin of 1.7 and a turnover margin of 2.5.

The Weber State Wildcats improved to 15-9 (9-4 Big Sky) on the season after defeating the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, 86-71, this past Saturday. Weber State dominated Northern Arizona on both ends of the court in the 1st half and had no trouble securing the victory after taking a 46-27 halftime lead. Weber State shot 54.1% from the field and 36.0% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Jerrick Harding who had 29 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

Defensively, Weber State is allowing their opponents to an average of 73.3 ppg on 42.2% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of 1.3 and a turnover margin of -1.0.

The Grizzles are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games, however, are just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Wildcats are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

Montana has won 11 of their last 13 games and has been solid on both ends of the court this season as the Grizzlies rank 83rd in scoring offense, 19th in FG%, and 94th in scoring defense.

Weber State has won 6 of their last 9 games and although they rank just 230th in scoring defense, the Wildcats have been solid offensively as they come into this match-up ranked 34th in scoring offense & 32nd in FG%.

Weber State is a solid 8-3 at home this season, however, the Wildcats have had no answers for the Grizzlies as of late as Weber State has lost their last three games agianst Montana, including a 75-68 loss in Montana in late January. Montana has a solid defense that should be able to neutralize the Weber State offense and as I think the Grizzlies will be able to put up points agianst the Weber State defense, I’m taking Montana to win this pick-em on the road. Good Luck!
