The Line: West Virginia +4 -- Over/Under: 144.5
The TCU Horned Frogs and West Virginia Mountaineers meet Tuesday in college basketball action at the WVU Coliseum.
The TCU Horned Frogs could use a win after splitting their last 12 games. The TCU Horned Frogs are averaging 75.1 points on 45.8 percent shooting and allowing 69.3 points on 42.5 percent shooting. Desmond Bane is averaging 15.1 points and 2.6 assists while Kouat Noi is averaging 15 points and five rebounds. Alex Robinson is the third double-digit scorer and JD Miller is grabbing 6.7 rebounds. The TCU Horned Frogs are shooting 34.6 percent from beyond the arc and 69.6 percent from the free throw line. The TCU Horned Frogs are allowing 30.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 33.9 rebounds per game. The TCU Horned Frogs have lost five of their last six road games.
The West Virginia Mountaineers need a win here in order to snap a five-game losing streak. The West Virginia Mountaineers are averaging 70.8 points on 40.9 percent shooting and allowing 75.3 points on 44.6 percent shooting. Sagaba Konate is averaging 13.6 points and eight rebounds while Esa Ahmad is averaging 12 points and 1.8 assists. James Bolden is the third double-digit scorer and Derek Culver is grabbing nine rebounds. The West Virginia Mountaineers are shooting 30.3 percent from beyond the arc and 68.1 percent from the free throw line. The West Virginia Mountaineers are allowing 35.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 34.7 rebounds per game. The West Virginia Mountaineers have lost four of their last six home games.
The Horned Frogs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Big 12 and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Mountaineers are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big 12 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Horned Frogs are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings in West Virginia and 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The over is 8-3 in Horned Frogs last 11 games following a ATS win. The under is 4-1 in Mountaineers last 5 overall.
The TCU Horned Frogs haven't lived up to the expectations they entered the season with and they've been even more inconsistent on the road where they lose by an average of seven points. This is a spot where I strongly considered WVU and the points. However, the West Virginia Mountaineers are losing by an average of 19.8 points while shooting just 34.5 percent from the field during their five-game losing streak. West Virginia is also just 8-18-1 ATS on the season and 5-81 ATS at home. It's hard to make a case for the Mountaineers these days, and that's without including the fact TCU won the meeting last month by 31 points. I don't love TCU, but this is simply fading a West Virginia club that provides me no value currently.
