Western Carolina Catamounts +1.5 O/U: 165
The Citadel Bulldogs and the Western Carolina Catamounts will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
The Citadel is 11-13 on the season right now. The Bulldogs have lost three of their last four games, beating Mercer and falling to Furman, Wofford and East Tennessee State in that stretch.
In the loss to the Buccaneers, the Citadel’s top scorer was Zane Najdawi on 29 points, six rebounds and three assists. Kaiden Rice added 21 points for the Bulldogs there, and Lew Stallworth doubled up with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Over on the Western Carolina side, they’re 6-21 this year. The Catamounts have lost their last four straight games, dropping to Samford, Furman, Wofford and Mercer during that span of outings.
In their loss to the Bears, Western Carolina’s top scorer was Kameron Gibson on 16 points and two rebounds. Carlos Dotson logged a double-double for the Catamounts in that one with 12 points and 10 rebounds of his own.
The Citadel are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 versus the Southern. The Bulldogs are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 overall and 1-5-1 ATS in the last seven Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Catamounts are 2-5 ATS in their last seven following an ATS loss and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. WCU is 0-3-1 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four overall.
It’s been a pretty tough set of outings for the Citadel lately, and they’ve managed just 67 points or fewer in three of their last four games. The other was in a 91-83 loss to ETSU.
That said, WCU’s results have been even more disappointing (despite them going up against a couple tough teams), with 65 or fewer scored in each of their last three.
I’m not thrilled about this one, but I’m leaning toward the Citadel on the road cover here.
