Western Carolina Catamounts +10 O/U: 141.5
The UNC Greensboro Spartans and the Western Carolina Catamounts will match up on the college basketball circuit Thursday.
UNC Greensboro enters this one at a nice 15-3 on the year. UNCG had a seven-game winning streak snapped in an embarrassing loss to Wofford, but then came back to take out Furman in their last appearance.
In the win over the Paladins, UNC Greensboro’s lead scorer was Isaiah Miller with 25 points, five rebounds and three assists. Francisco Alonso helped out the Spartans as well with his 16 points, four assists and three rebounds there.
Over on the Western Carolina side, they’re 5-14 this season. The Catamounts are 2-1 in their last three games though, falling to Mercer and beating Samford and the Citadel.
In the win over the Bulldogs, WCU’s Matt Halvorsen and Kameron Gibson each logged 16 points, and combined for eight assists and nine rebounds. Onno Steger added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Catamounts there as well.
The Spartans are 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS win and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall. UNCG is 2-6 ATS in their last eight following a straight-up win and the under is 7-0 in their last seven Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Catamounts are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and the under is 4-1 in their last five home games. The over is 8-3 in Western Carolina’s last 11 Thursday games and the under is 5-2 in their last seven overall.
The Spartans put up a nice effort against the Paladins in their last outing, banging out an 89-79 victory against a pretty tough team. It was a nice well-balanced effort that should help ease the pain of choking out just 43 points versus Wofford in that blowout loss.
WCU got beat up by Wofford as well (a lot of teams do) 74-54 and have since been a little sketchy from game to game. I’m not going to pick against the Catamounts on a double-digit line, though. I’ll go WCU here.
