The Wofford Terriors and the Western Carolina Catamounts will be matching up in college basketball activity on Saturday.
Wofford enters this game at 9-4 overall. The Terriers had a three-game win streak going versus KY Christian, Coastal Carolina and UNC Asheville but fell to Mississippi State in their last game.
In the Mississippi State game, Wofford’s Fletcher Magee led the team on 24 points and four rebounds. Cameron Jackson had a nice outing for the Terriers as well with 20 points and six rebounds.
Over on the WCU side, they’re 3-11 this season. Since beating UNC Asheville, the Catamounts have dropped to High Point, Iowa and Bowling Green.
In the Bowling Green Game, Western Carolina’s Kameron Gibson was the only player on the team in double-figures, putting up 20 points with three rebounds and one assist in that one.
Wofford is 5-0 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 7-0 ATS in their last seven following an ATS loss. The Terriers are 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Southern and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games.
Meanwhile, the Catamounts are 4-0 ATS in the last four games and 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games. Western Carolina is 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight versus the Southern.
Wofford actually had Mississippi State on the ropes 50-41 after the first half, but faded down the stretch and were outscored by 20. Still, they’ve been initially competitive in many of their tough games this year.
As for WCU, they haven’t been able to get past 60 points in any of their last three games. I’m going to stick with the Terriers on the cover here.
