The North Dakota Fighting Hawks butt heads with the Western Illinois Leathernecks in Summit League college basketball.

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks need a win after dropping three in a row after a 70-56 defeat against South Dakota as a 2.5 point home favorite.

North Dakota trailed by 12 points and couldn’t narrow the deficit with  the  Coyotes holding  a  47.2%-40% shooting edge.

Marlon Stewart carried the Fighting Hawks offense with 22 points, seven boards and four helpers with Cortez Seales adding ten points and three yanks.

Filip Rebraca gave North Dakota eight points and eleven rebounds followed by a six point effort by Kienan Walter.

The Western Illinois Leathernecks are gunning for a third straight victory after defeating South Dakota 65-59 on Saturday.

Western Illinois trailed by five points after 20 minutes before a 39-28 second half run secured the win behind a 42.3%-37.7% edge in marksmanship.

Ben Pyle paced a balanced Leathernecks attack with 15 points and ten rebounds followed by Kobe Webster with 13 points and four pulls.

Brandon  Gillbeck  and  CJ  Duff  gave WIU  21  combined points with Isaiac Johnson adding eight points and eight rebounds.

North Dakota Fighting Hawks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Summit. Western Illinois Leathernecks are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall and  are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win.
