Western Illinois Leathernecks -3 O/U: 145
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and the Western Illinois Leathernecks will match up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Oral Roberts enters play here on a 10-19 mark overall. Following consecutive wins over Denver and South Dakota, the Eagles have lost their last pair to North Dakota State and North Dakota.
In the loss to the Hawks, Oral Roberts’ Kevin Obanor led the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds. DJ Weaver added 15 points for the Golden Eagles in that one, and Aidan Saunders chipped in with 13 points.
Over on the Western Illinois side, they’re 8-18 this year. The Leathernecks have lost their last five straight, dropping to North Dakota, ND State, Fort Wayne, South Dakota and Omaha in that time.
In their loss to the Mavericks, Western Illinois’ top scorer was Kobe Webster on 17 points. CJ Duff and Isaac Johnson each added 13 points for the Leathernecks there, and Brandon Gilbeck put up 10 points with 10 rebounds.
The Eagles are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 versus a team with a losing straight-up record and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games. Oral Roberts is 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and the over is 5-1 in their last six versus the Summit.
Meanwhile, the Leathernecks are 15-35-3 ATS in their last 54 Saturday games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five home games. Western Illinois is 0-4-1 ATS int heir last five overall and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss.
Interestingly enough, Oral Roberts allowed 85 points to both North Dakota State and North Dakota, and also scored 73 points in each of those games as well. It was a sharp contrast to a very solid pair of previous games.
Oral Roberts took an 82-63 home win the last time these teams met up, but with the home lift here it shouldn’t be that bad for WIL. Still, I’m leaning toward Oral Roberts on a road cover.
