The Western Illinois Leathernecks welcome the South Dakota Coyotes to town for a Summit college basketball tilt.

The South Dakota Coyotes are mired in a five game slide after falling 86-72 against Oral Roberts on Sunday as a 7.5 point home favorite.

South Dakota appeared to be heading for a top four spot but have dropped to 6thin the standings and need a quick turnaround.

South Dakota saw ten points, three yanks and four helpers from Tyler Peterson followed by a combined 18 points from Cody Kelley and Brandon Armstrong.

The Western Illinois Leathernecks have followed a two game winning streak with a three game skid following a 79-64 loss at Purdue Fort Wayne.

Western Illinois does not stand out in any area and need both their offense and defense on the same page to have any chance of success.

Kobe Webster topped the Leathernecks with 15 points and four pulls while Brandon Gilbeck netted 12 points and hauled in 16 rebounds.

WIU received eleven points and four boards from CJ Duff followed by Isaac Johnson and Ben Pyle with nine and seven points.

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
