Western Kentucky Hilltoppers -12 O/U: 136.5
The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
Middle Tennessee comes into this one with an 8-17 mark on the year. Following a three-game win streak over UAB twice and Charlotte, the Blue Raiders fell in their last outing to Old Dominion.
In the loss to the Monarchs, Middle Tennessee’s Donovan Sims led the team with 14 points and five rebounds. The only other Blue Raiders player in double-figures there was Antonio Green with 13 points and six rebounds.
Over on the Western Kentucky side, they’re 15-10 on the season. The Hilltoppers are sitting on a four-game winning streak right now, taking out UTSA, UTEP, Rice and North Texas in that stretch.
In the win over the Mean Green, Western Kentucky’s Charles Bassey led the team on 18 points and seven rebounds. The only other double-digit Hilltoppers player in that defense-heavy game was Taveion Hollingsworth with 14 points and seven rebounds.
The Raiders are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus CUSA. Middle Tennessee is 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 road games.
Meanwhile, the Hilltoppers are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 6-1 ATS in their last five Thursday games. Western Kentucky is 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games.
Middle Tennessee had a nice run going as they headed into that Old Dominion game, but hit the wall in a 55-50 defeat at home. It was the Blue Raiders’ lowest points total since December 8 at home versus Murray State (a 64-42 loss).
WKU has had their own ups and downs on the scoreboard lately, so I’m not super confident about them either. Still, the home lift and meager competition should be enough for the Hilltoppers to cover here.
