The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers go on the road to oppose the Rice Owls in Thursday college basketball.

The surging Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have won five of six after defeating UTEP 76-59 as an eleven point home favorite on Saturday.

Western Kentucky didn’t find the groove until the second half where a 42-28 run secured the victory behind 47.4% from the floor.

Josh Anderson topped the Hilltoppers with 18 points and four pulls with Charles Bassey adding 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Western Kentucky received 14 points and four boards from Jared Savage followed by Lamonte Bearden with nine points, four boards and seven helpers.

The Rice Owls come off of an 80-76 loss at Old Dominion as a 12 point underdog on Saturday as the team continues to struggle.

Rice played well until the second half where a four point advantage went by the wayside with the Monarchs ending the game with a 50-42 run.

Chris Mullins led the Owls with 14 points, three yanks and five helpers with Robert Marsh adding another 13 points and seven boards.

Jack Williams gave Rice 12 points and Ten rebounds followed by Ako Adams and Trey Murphy III tossing in eleven and ten points.
