The Line: Western Kentucky Hilltoppers +2.5 -- Over/Under: 144
The Saint Mary’s Gaels and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will meet up on the college basketball court Saturday.
St. Mary’s enters this one at 8-5 on the year. The Gaels have thus far taken out McNeese State, Utah Valley, NM State, Cal, B-CU, New Mexico, CSUF and Bucknell on the season.
In the Bison game, St. Mary’s guard Jordan Ford led the team on 28 points with three rebounds and two assists. Jordan Hunter added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Gaels and Tanner Krebs posted 12 points.
Over on the Western Kentucky side, they’re 5-6 this season. The Hilltoppers have fallen to Washington, UCF, Indiana State, Missouri State, Troy and Belmont this year.
In the Bruins matchup, WKU’s Charles Bassey and Josh Anderson each had 16 points. Bassey doubled up with 10 rebounds alongside two assists, and Anderson put up six rebounds and two assists there.
The Gaels are 5-1 ATS in their last six non-conference games and 5-1 ATS in their last six overall. St. Mary’s is 5-2 ATS in their last seven following a straight-up win and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Hilltoppers are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four versus the West Coast and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games following a straight-up loss. WKU is also 2-5 ATS in their last seven non-conference games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall.
St. Mary’s is on a nice run lately, winning five of their last six games, and playing well in the one they lost (78-74 to LSU December 15).
As for Western Kentucky, they’ve been quite good at scoring lately but are also giving up huge numbers on the other side.
I like the Gaels to keep things going and cover here.
