Western Kentucky Hilltoppers -4.5 O/U: 134.5
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will meet up on the college basketball court Sunday.
Southern Miss comes into this game at 17-10 overall. After six straight wins over Marshall, FIU, FL Atlantic, LA Tech, UTSA and UTEP, the Eagles dropped their last outing versus UAB.
In the OT loss to the Blazers, Southern Miss’ top scorer was Tyree Griffin with 20 points, 10 assists and two boards. Cortez Edwards logged 17 points and nine rebounds for the Golden Eagles in that one as well.
Over on the Western Kentucky side, they’re 17-12 this season. After consecutive losses to UAB and Old Dominion, the Hilltoppers got back in the win column with a 73-67 victory over UAB in their last outing.
In the win over the Blazers, Western Kentucky’s Charles Bassey doubled up with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Taveion Hollingsworth notched 17 points for the Hilltoppers in that one, and Josh Anderson had 13 points with four rebounds.
The Golden Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus CUSA. The over is 5-1 in Southern Miss’ last six overall and 3-1-1 in their last five road games.
Meanwhile, the Hilltoppers are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 Sunday games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall. Western Kentucky is 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus CUSA.
Southern Miss had a couple of nail-biters during their six-game win streak, but for the most part they were playing pretty good ball and scoring well. The Golden Eagles could have notched a win versus UAB as well had a couple of things gone their way.
The Hilltoppers got a 66-63 road win the last time these teams met up, but I think the Eagles are a better team than that. I’m going to stick with Southern Miss on the road cover here.
