Western Michigan Broncos +4 O/U: 151.5
The Central Michigan Chippewas and the Western Michigan Broncos will meet up on the college basketball court Friday.
Central Michigan is sitting at 20-10 this year. After a nice four-game win streak, the Chippewas have lost their last pair of games to Toledo on Saturday and Northern Illinois on Tuesday.
In the loss to the Huskies, Central Michigan’s Sean Roundtree led the team with 23 points alongside three rebounds. Larry Austin also had a nice line for the Chippewas on 12 rebounds, eight assists and 19 points.
Over on the Western Michigan side, they’re 8-2 on the season. The Broncos are skidding on a four-game losing streak, falling to Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Ball State and Toledo.
In the loss to Toledo, the lead scorer for the Broncos was Michael Flowers with 21 points, three assists and two rebounds. Both Josh Davis and Seth Dugan provided 12 points for Western Michigan there, with a combined 14 rebounds.
The Chippewas are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss and 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 overall. Central Michigan is 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 versus the MAC and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus a team with a losing straight-up record.
Meanwhile, the Broncos are 5-1 ATS in their last six Friday games and 4-1 ATS in the last five overall. Western Michigan is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the MAC and 10-21-1 ATS in their last 32 home games.
Central Michigan had Northern Illinois at bay in the first half of their loss, but then fell 89-86 on the strength of a 52-46 deficit in the second half. The good news is that the Chippewas posted a nice points total as opposed to their 68 versus Toledo, but there’s not much solace in that.
Still, with the Broncos stalled out these days, I have to stick with Central Michigan on the cover here.
