The Western Michigan Broncos are in dire need of a win to snap a 6-game losing skid following an 81-76 loss to Ohio in their last outing. Michael Flowers led the Broncos with 24 points on 8 of 15 shooting with 6 threes, 4 assists and a pair of steals while Seth Dugan came right behind with 23 points on 9 of 14 shooting with 15 rebounds for the double-double. William Boyer-Richard added 12 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Western Michigan as well in the losing effort. Eastern Michigan is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 11-2 ATS in their last 13 conference games while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games following a loss. Western Michigan is 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Eastern Michigan is 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams and 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams at Western Michigan.
Neither one of these teams are ones I feel comfortable backing in their current form, and it’s hard to split them apart, but I guess that’s why the line is as low as it is. With that said, with the game almost being a pick ‘em, I try to factor in who is in better form, and while that’s Eastern Michigan between the two here, the Eagles have gone just 1-7 SU on the road this season. Western Michigan is a sub-.500 team at home, which is startling because home court is usually where you tend to do your best work, but the Broncos have had success in this matchup over recent years, both overall and at home, so I’ll take the free point with Western Michigan as I think the Broncos end their slide here.
