Wichita State Shockers +3.5 O/U: 135.5
The UCF Knights and the Wichita State Shockers will match up in college basketball action on Wednesday.
UCF enters this one at a nice 13-2 on the season. The Knights are currently enjoying a seven-game win streak over Grambling State, GA Southern, Stetson, Illinois State, Temple, UConn and East Carolina.
In the win over the Pirates, UCF’s lead scorer was Aubrey Dawkins, with 18 points, six rebounds and three assists. BJ Taylor added 14 points and six assists for the Knights, and Collin Smith tallied 12 points with eight rebounds.
Over on the Wichita State side, they’re 7-8 this year so far. The Shockers have dropped their last four consecutive games, falling to VCU, Memphis, Temple and Houston in that span.
In the loss to the Cougars, Wichita State’s Markis McDuffie led the team on 22 points, five rebounds and one assist. The only other Shockers player in double-figures there was Samajae Haynes-Jones with 14 points.
The Knights are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 Wednesday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss. The over is 4-0 in UCF’s last four Wednesday games and 12-5 in their last 17 versus the AAC.
Meanwhile, the Shockers are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall. Wichita State is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games and 1-8 ATS in their last nine versus the AAC.
Since the loss to Missouri 64-62 way back on December 2, the Knights have been chugging along quite nicely, and though they’ve finished in the sub-70 point range a couple of times their offense has for the most part been looking very good.
As for Wichita State, they’ve faced some tough teams during this losing stretch, but can’t get much of anything going even though they’re scoring fairly well.
I’m going to stick with the hot hand here and take UCF on the cover.
