The Oakland Golden Grizzlies visit the Green Bay Phoenix in Horizon college basketball.
The Oakland Golden Grizzlies have not been looking like a team capable of winning the Horizon until recently with wins in four of five capped of by a 76-68 win at the Milwaukee Panthers as a 1.5 point favorite on Thursday. Oakland won the shooting battle 45.6%-38.6% and held a 19-8 margin at the foul line.
Kendrick Nunn carried the Golden Grizzlies attack a he led all scorers with 36 points, five pulls and four helpers on 12-22 from the floor including a 5-11 effort from beyond the arc. Oakland received 14 points and four yanks from Martez Walker on 4-11 shooting while Jalen Hayes and Isaiah Brock combined for 18 points with Brock hauling in eleven rebounds.
The Green Bay Phoenix are looking for a return to the top of the Horizon League and began their quest with a 95-83 victory versus the Detroit Titans as a 3.5 point home favorite. Both teams sank shots at around 43% with Green Bay totaling 12 more looks at the basket for a decisive five more field goals.
Sandy Cohen III led the Phoenix scoring spree with 24 points, six pulls and three steals on 9-18 from the floor with Khalil Small adding 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Sukhjot Bains gave Green Bay 16 points and six boards on 6-8 shooting while PJ Pipes and David Jesperson tossed in 13 and eleven points.
