The Iowa Hawkeyes and the Wisconsin Badgers meet in Big Ten college basketball action from the Kohl Center on Thursday night.

The Iowa Hawkeyes will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after an 86-72 loss to Rutgers in their last outing as 8.5-point favorites. Nicholas Baer led the Hawkeyes with 17 points including 4 threes and 6 rebounds while Tyler Cook added 16 points and 8 rebounds and Jordan Bohannon chipped in 15 points with 3 threes and a pair of steals. Luka Garza added 10 points to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers for Iowa in the loss. Joe Wieskamp added 5 points with team-highs of 9 rebounds, 3 assists and a pair of blocks in the losing effort for Iowa as well. Cook leads Iowa with an average of 15.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while Bohannon leads the Hawkeyes in assists with 3.4 assists per game this season. As a team, Iowa is averaging 79.7 points per game on 46.3% shooting from the field, 36.7% from behind the 3-point line and 74.8% from the foul line this season.

The Wisconsin Badgers will look to keep their momentum going after a 61-57 win over Penn State last time out. Brevin Pritzl led the Badgers with 17 points on a perfect 5 of 5 from the floor with 4 threes and a 3 of 4 mark at the foul line while Ethan Happ added 14 points with 6 rebounds, 4 steals and a team-high 5 assists as the only other double-digit scorer for Wisconsin in the win. Nate Reuvers added a team-high 9 rebound and a pair of blocks as well in the winning effort for the Badgers. Happ leads the Badgers by averaging a double-double per game with 17.8 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season. As a team, Wisconsin is averaging 69.7 points per game on 45.9% shooting from the field, 38.2% from behind the 3-point line and 64.7% from the foul line this season.

Iowa is 6-14-1 ATS in their last 21 road games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Wisconsin is 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 home games. Iowa is 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams but are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Wisconsin.

Neither of these teams have been good ATS lately, and Wisconsin has been decent against teams with winning records, so the Badgers being favored makes sense. However, Wisconsin has played down to a lot of opposition lately, and have had a couple of close calls in games that by all intents and purposes should’ve been cakewalks. Iowa’s let me down a couple times lately, but I don’t think that there’s that much separating these two teams. Add in the amount of success the Hawkeyes have had on the road against Wisconsin and I think the points with Iowa are worth a shot here.

Iowa +8.5
