Wisconsin Badgers -2.5 O/U: 132.5
The Michigan State Spartans and the Wisconsin Badgers will meet up on the college basketball court Tuesday.
Michigan State comes into this one at 19-5 on the year. Following three consecutive losses to Purdue, Indiana and Illinois, the Spartans finally got back in the win column in their last outing versus Minnesota.
In the win over the Gophers, Michigan State’s top scorer was Nick Ward on 22 points with nine rebounds and two assists. Matt McQuaid logged 18 points, eight assists and five rebounds for the Spartans in that one as well.
Over on the Wisconsin side, they’re 17-7 this season. After a nice win streak over Michigan, Illinois, Northwestern, Nebraska, Maryland and Minnesota, the Badgers lost their last game versus Michigan.
In the loss to the Wolverines, Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ was the only scorer in double-figures, bagging 18 points with a team-high 11 rebounds. Nathan Reuvers and Brad Davison each managed nine points for the Badgers in that game.
The Spartans are 8-1 ATS in their last nine after an ATS win and 14-3 ATS in their last 17 after a straight-up win. Michigan State is 10-3 ATS in their last 13 versus the Big Ten and 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games.
Meanwhile, the Badgers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 6-1 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten. Wisconsin is 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight-up loss.
Well, the good news for Michigan State is that they’ve halted their losing streak. The bad news is that they’re jumping right back in with a road game against a tough Wisconsin team. The Spartans have given up exactly 79 points in each of their last three outings, but that’s probably going to come to an end here.
The Badgers will want to play their own style here, and that’s low-scoring, defense heavy matchups. I’m going to stick with Wisconsin at home dealing another blow to a reeling Spartans squad.
