Kentucky Wildcats -6 O/U: 141.5
The Wofford Terriers and the Kentucky Wildcats will match up on the college basketball court Saturday in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.
Wofford enters this one at 30-4 on the year overall. The Terriers have been rolling lately, plowing through the Southern Conference Tournament and shredding Seton Hall 84-68 in the First Round of the Big Dance.
In the win over the Pirates, Wofford’s Fletcher Magee led the way on 24 points, and Nathan Hoover added 18 points with four rebounds. Cameron Jackson also had 14 points with 10 rebounds and five assists for the Terriers in that one.
Over on the Kentucky side, they’re 28-6 on the year. The Wildcats fell to Tennessee in the SEC Tournament, but cruised by ACU on Thursday in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament 79-44.
In the win over the Wildcats, Kentucky’s Keldon Johnson put up 25 points with six rebounds, and Reid Travis had 18 points with nine rebounds. EJ Montgomery pulled down 11 rebounds and put up three points for Kentucky there also.
The Terriers are 6-0 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 6-0 ATS in their last six neutral-site games. Wofford is 12-1 ATS in their last 13 overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the SEC.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 5-0 ATS in their last five non-conference games and 4-1-2 ATS in their last seven NCAA Tournament games. Kentucky is 33-16-4 ATS in their last 53 neutral-site games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall.
Wofford didn’t have much of an issue at all in the First Round, and they were leading 40-30 at halftime versus a Seton Hall team that really couldn’t get out of their own way. Still, the Terriers are everyone’s darlings right now and a trendy pick to throw a wrench into your bracket.
I’m not totally on the Wofford bandwagon just yet, but I’m getting there. Still, this is Kentucky we’re talking about, and even getting close here will be a big task. The Terriers’ shooting abilities may carry them to a cover, but it’ll be close. I’m staying away from this one and just enjoying it.
