The 2-seed UNC Greensboro Spartans came one step closer in securing back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament after defeating the 3-seed Furman Paladins, 66-62, on Sunday night. UNC Greensboro trailed by a 37-28 margin early in the 2nd half, however, was solid defensively down the stretch and was able to pull away later after a 12-0 Spartans run gave UNC Greensboro a 65-58 lead with just 1:21 left in regulation. The 22nd ranked Wofford Terriers kept their perfect season in the SOCON alive and will take on the Spartans for the SOCON Men’s Championship for the 2nd consecutive season after defeating the East Tennessee State Buccaneers, 81-72, on Sunday. Wofford was outstanding offensively against East Tennessee State and was able to hold off the Buccaneers for the victory after taking a 51-40 lead with 12:05 left in regulation. Wofford shot 59.3% from the field and 55.6% from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Terriers was Fletcher Magee who had 26 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Wofford had not trouble taking care of business in both regular season meetings against UNC Greensboro as the Terriers won by a 72-43 margin on the road in early January and by an 80-50 margin at home in mid-February.
The Spartans are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Terriers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
UNC Greensboro defeated Wofford last year in the Semifinals of the SOCON Men’s Championship in an exciting 56-55 match-up, however, it’s going to be a much bigger challenge for the Spartans this season after seeing Wofford dominate both match-ups against them this season. UNC Greensboro is a very solid team which we saw in their win against Furman, however, the Spartans have shown at times to be inconsistent on the offense end as they barley survived close games against some below average teams in North Alabama, VMI, and Western Carolina. Wofford has been unbelievable this season on both ends of the court and as they haven’t shown any signs of slowing down, I’m going to roll with the Terriers to cover this mid-range spread. Good Luck!
