Wofford Terriers -23 O/U: 151.5
The VMI Keydets and the Wofford Terriers will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
VMI enters this one with a 7-17 mark on the year. The Keydets have lost their last five straight games, dropping to Mercer, Citadel, UNCG, Chattanooga and Samford in that stretch.
In the OT loss to the Bulldogs, VMI’s lead scorer was Jake Stephens with 15 points, two rebounds and one assist. Bubba Parham added 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Keydets there, and Garrett Gilkeson managed 13 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists.
Over on the Wofford side, they’re 21-4 on the year. The Terriers haven’t lost since December 19, and they’ve rattled off victories over Mercer, the Citadel, East Tennessee State and WCU in their last four outings.
In the win over the Catamounts, Wofford’s Fletcher Magee ld the way on 30 points, and Cameron Jackson added 15 points with nine rebounds. Doubling up for the Terriers in that one was Keve Aluma with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
VMI is 5-0 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up loss. The Keydets are 17-35-1 ATS in their last 53 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the Southern. Wofford is 5-1 ATS in their last six Thursday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
VMI showed how well they can potentially play with their OT loss to Samford, which they led 37-33 at the half. Six Keydets had at least nine points in that one, which easily could have been a victory.
Wofford is going to win this one no doubt, but with a spread that thick I’m inclined to give the Keydets some trust that they can at least eke in there. I’ll go VMI.
