Wofford Terriers PK O/U: 151.5
The VMI Keydets will take on the Wofford Terriers in college basketball’s Southern Conference Tournament Saturday.
VMI enters this matchup at 11-20 overall. The Keydets have won their last four straight games, taking out Western Carolina, Mercer and the Citadel to finish off the regular season, and West Carolina again in tourney action Friday.
In that Friday victory, VMI’s lead scorer was Bubba Parham with 41 points and five rebounds with three assists. Sarju Patel also had a nice outing for the Keydets in that one with 22 points and three rebounds.
Over on the Wofford side, they’re 26-4 this season. The Terriers are enjoying a nice 17-game win streak right now, and they’ve taken out Furman, Chattanooga and Samford in their last three.
In the win over Samford, Wofford’s lead scorer was Nathan Hoover with 36 points, four rebounds and four assists. Nathan Hoover (17 points) and Chevez Goodwin (10 points; 10 rebounds) also finished in double-figures for the Terriers there.
The Keydets are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight Saturday games. VMI is 8-18 ATS in their last 26 after an ATS win and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 neutral-site games.
Meanwhile, the Terriers are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 5-0 ATS in their last five Saturday games. Wofford is 6-1 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last five neutral-site games.
Wofford is rolling through pretty much everybody these days, and since the OT affair 78-76 against East Tennessee State back on February 7, no one in the last half-dozen games has really given the Terriers much trouble.
We’ll get to see what Wofford is made of soon enough, but for now they should be running through this tourney like tissue paper. Even though VMI has been hot lately, I’m leaning toward the Terriers here.
