The Wright State Raiders won their 3rd straight game and improved to 11-10 (5-3 Horizon) on the season after defeating the Milwaukee Panthers, 56-54, this past Thursday. Wright State struggled offensively against Milwaukee and allowed to Panthers to make it a game late, however, the Raiders were able to hang on for the victory late after taking a 55-54 lead with 2:20 left in regulation. Wright State shot just 34.0% from the field & 18.5% from beyond the arc, however, did outrebounded Milwaukee by a 38-30 margin in the victory. The Phoenix are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games following a straight up loss, however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Raiders are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
Green Bay has lost 4 of their last 5 games and although they rank 16th in scoring offense, the Phoenix have struggled defensively as they rank just 346th in scoring defense & 274th in defensive FG%. Wright State has won 4 of their last 5 games and comes into this game ranked 195th in scoring offense and 111th in scoring defense.
Wright State is the better overall team, however, the Raiders tend to struggle more against high scoring teams with less than average defenses as we saw in their 79-58 loss earlier this agianst Detroit Mercy. Green Bay has picked up solid wins against Northern Illinois & Belmont this season and as I think they’ll be able to do enough offensive agianst the Raiders defense, I think the Phoenix cover with the points in this one.
