NM -8 O/U 132
The New Mexico Lobos (8-2) will visit the Wyoming Cowboys (6-2) at the Arena- Auditorium. The Lobos are off to an 8-2 start in their first ten games thanks to a close victory against Boise State at home, winning 80-78. JaQuan Lyle contributed 31 points on 10 of 17 from the field. The Lobos escaped after Boise State missed two threes in the final seconds to win their first conference game of the year.
Lyle is averaging 18.2 points per game, thanks to his last game. The Lobos are very well rounded with Carlton Bragg Jr. hauling in 9.5 rebounds per game and JJ Caldwell throwing 5.3 dimes a game. New Mexico scores 78.3 points per game and allows just 71.7 per game. They’re also very active defensively and force 7.2 steals per game.
Wyoming is struggling to start the year. They just lost their previous game to Air Force, 86-77. They’re having trouble defending and New Mexico is not the team that they want to be facing during their struggles.
The Cowboys are led by Hunter Maldonado who is averaging 16 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. It’s a one man show over there. It’s hard to win games when you really only have one guy producing. That’s the problem the Cowboys have right now. When they struggle to score, they defend fine. When they struggle to defend, they start to score more. They can’t put together a complete game.
Lobos are 20-43 ATS in their last 63 road games.
Cowboys are 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
Over is 6-1 in Lobos last 7 games as a road favorite.
Under is 6-1 in Cowboys last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
The Lobos will be able to score at will against Wyoming and defend will enough to win this game. They’re more well balanced, get production from multiple players and can flat out score. Final Score Predictions: New Mexico wins and covers ATS, 84-72.
