The Air Force Falcons and the Wyoming Cowboys meet in Mountain West college basketball action from the Arena-Auditorium on Saturday evening.

The Air Force Falcons will look to build on back-to-back wins after an 82-68 win over San Jose state in their last outing. Lavelle Scottie led the Falcons with 25 points on 12 of 25 shooting wit 9 rebounds while Caleb Morris added 15 points with 5 threes and Chris Joyce also had 15 points on 5 of 13 shooting with 3 triples and 6 rebounds. Ryan Swan added 11 points to match his 11 rebounds with 4 assists for the double-double to round out the quartet of double-digit scorers for Air Force in the win. A.J. Walker added a team-high 10 assists as well in the winning effort. Scottie leads Air Force in scoring with 15.8 points per game while Swan leads the Falcons in rebounding with 7.4 rebounds per game and Sid Tomes leads Air Force in assists with 2.3 assists per game this season. As a team, Air Force is averaging 67.8 points per game on 45.3% shooting from the field, 32.2% from behind the 3-point line and 67.3% from the foul line this season.

The Wyoming Cowboys will look to snap a 5-game losing streak after a 71-60 loss to Fresno State last time out. Justin James led the Cowboys with 27 points on 12 of 26 shooting with team-highs of 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the double-double. Trace Young and Brandon Porter each had 10 points with Young adding 3 threes and Porter hitting a pair of triples with a pair of steals to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Wyoming in the losing effort. James leads Wyoming with an average of 21.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season. As a team, Wyoming is averaging 64.1 points per game on 41.2% shooting from the field, 33.9% from behind the arc and 72.9% from the foul line this season.

Air Force is 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 7-3 in their last 10 road games against a team with a losing home record. Wyoming is 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 games overall and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 home games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 conference games. Air Force is 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

Air Force has a tendency to play down to lower opposition, so it’s a bit surprising to see the Falcons favored on the road. However, the fact that Air Force is favored just goes to speak to how poorly the Cowboys have been playing as of late and anyone who follows me knows I’m going to sound like a broken record, but when you see Wyoming on the board, you fade the Cowboys and it’s paid off more often than it hasn’t. Justin James can only do so much for the Cowboys, and even getting some additional scoring depth hasn’t helped matters. I have to lay the points with Air Force on the road as I simply don’t trust Wyoming in this spot, or any spot for that matter.

Air Force -1.5
