The Line: Xavier Musketeers -3 -- Over/Under: 146.5
The Seton Hall Pirates and the Xavier Musketeers will meet up in college basketball activity on Wednesday.
Seton Hall enters this one with a 10-3 record overall. The Pirates are sitting on a six-game win streak, taking out New Hampshire, Kentucky, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Maryland and St. John’s (in a wild finish) during that time.
In the Red Storm game, Seton Hall’s Myles Powell led the team on 15 points with four rebounds. Michael Nzei, Quincy McKnight and Sandro Mamukelashvili each chipped in 14 points for the Pirates, and Nzei doubled up on 10 rebounds.
Over on the Xavier side, they’re sitting at 9-5 this season so far. The Musketeers have won three of their last four games, falling to Missouri but taking out Eastern Kentucky, Detroit and DePaul in that span.
In the Blue Demons game, Xavier’s lead scorer was Naji Marshall with 19 points, 14 rebounds and four assists for a double-double. Ryan Pelage added 17 points for the Musketeers and Tyrique Jones had 13.
The Pirates are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six versus the Big East. Seton Hall is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and the over is 9-2 in the last 11 road games.
Meanwhile, the Musketeers are 6-1 ATS in the last seven Wednesday games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall. Xavier is 2-7-3 ATS in their last 12 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six after an ATS win.
Seton Hall is on quite a roll right now, and the Louisville loss (as well as the weird defeat at the hands of the Billikens) is a distant memory. Xavier may give the Pirates more trouble than some may think, however, as they’re capable of putting up some nice offensive performances here and there.
Still, I’m not jumping off the Seton Hall bandwagon just yet.
