CFB | Western Michigan Broncos (8-4) at Air Force Falcons (9-3)

The Western Michigan Broncos and Air Force Falcons play Saturday in the Potato Bowl at Bronco Stadium.

The Western Michigan Broncos have won six of their last seven games and play in their first bowl since 2011. Zach Terrell is completing 70 percent of his passes for 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Terrell has four touchdowns and four picks in his last two games, and Western Michigan has 35 passing plays of 25 or more yards. Corey Davis and Daniel Braverman have combined for more than 1,100 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns while Darius Phillips has six of his 29 catches in his last three games. Western Michigan’s ground game is averaging 4.5 yards per carry, as Jarvion Franklin leads the way with 1,525 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. Defensively, the Western Michigan Broncos are allowing 23.8 points, 372 yards, and they’ve forced 27 sacks and 22 turnovers. Grant DePalma leads the WMU with 96 tackles and Trevor Ishmael has eight tackles for loss.

The Air Force Falcons have won five of their last six games and play in their seventh bowl in eight years. Air Force relies on its running game that’s averaging 4.5 yards per carry and has produced 24 runs of 20 or more yards. Kale Pearson and Shayne Davern have combined for more than 1,000 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Air Force is 7-0 this season when rushing for at least two scores. Pearson is also completing 59.3 percent of his passes for 14 touchdowns and three interceptions. Jalen Robinette and Garrett Brown have combined for more than 1,200 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Defensively, the Air Force Falcons are allowing 24.2 points, 396.3 yards, and they’ve forced 33 sacks and 17 turnovers. Jordan Pierce leads Air Force with 107 tackles and Spencer Proctor has 10.5 tackles for loss.

The Broncos are 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Falcons are 3-7 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Air Force has struggled this season against better teams and has lost all three of its games away from home. While this isn't a home game for the Broncos, the Falcons don't perform well outsde of their own house. Also, Western Michigan is the much more balanced offense, which should pay off if this game is tight. Give me the Broncos in pretty much a pick em game.
