The Central Michigan Chippewas take the field at the Akron Zips in a MAC college football matchup.
The Western Michigan Broncos stayed in MAC championship hunt with a 35-10 victory at Central Michigan. Western Michigan jumped to a 21-0 halftime lead and coasted the rest of the way with a 356-269 yardage edge and a huge 3-0 turnover advantage.
Broncos quarterback Jon Wassink completed 5-9 for 51 yards and ran eight times for 28 yards and three touchdowns.
LeVante Bellamy paced the Western Michigan offense with 145 rushing yards on 19 totes and a trip to the end zone while catching a five yard pass followed by a 19 carry, 96 yard effort from Jamauri Bogan who also scored. Four Broncos caught passes with Giovanni Ricci snagging a 28 yard pass.
The Akron Zips kept their Bowl hopes alive following a 24-23 overtime win at Kent State as a four point road favorite. Both teams finished with around 365 yards of offense with Akron stopping a two point conversion in OT.
Zips quarterback Kato Nelson hit on 19-35 throws for 219 yards and a touchdown and interception while leading the ground game with 90 yards and a TD on 17 touches.
Van Edwards Jr. added 39 rushing yards on 13 touches while Andre Williams paced the Zips receiving corps with four receptions for 72 yards and a score.
