CFB | Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (3-5) at Appalachian State Mountaineers (3-5)

The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks look for a win at Kidd Brewer Stadium versus the Appalachian State Mountaineers.

The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks look to snap a four game slide when they visit Appalachian State in week eleven. The Warhawks come off one of their strongest performances in a 21-16 defeat at Texas A&M as a 32 point underdog on Saturday. The defense was outstanding with only 243 yards allowed with a fumble recovery and interception. The problem was the Warhawks attack 347 yards resulted in kicking three field goals instead of PAT's. ULM could not move the ball on the ground at all and leaned heavily on the right arm of Pete Thomas which wasn't a terrible option with Thomas completing 26-47 for 246 yards with an interception. Rashon Ceasar and Kenzee Jackson were the top targets with 13 catches for 186 yards.

The Appalachian State Mountaineers shoot fot their third consecutive win when Louuisiana-Monroe comes to down Saturday. The Mountaineers thoroughly dominated Georgia State 44-0 in a game that was over at the coin flip. ASU played their best defense of 2014 with the Panthers held to a mere 62 yards and six first downs while losing a pair of fumbles and throwing an interception. On the flip side the Mountaineers amassed 567 yards with 469 yards coming on the ground with a seven yard average per touch. Taylor Lamb threw for 90 yards which was plenty considering how easily the ground attack churned out the yards. Marcus Cox was a force on the ground with 350 yards on 29 carries with three touchdowns followed by Ricky Fergerson who rambled for 123 yards on 14 touches with another trip to the endzone.

The Warhawks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record while going 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. For Appalachian State the Mountaineers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game. The Mountaineers looked like they were the worse team in the FBS a few weeks a go but the last two games say they are much better. At least good enough for me to back them in this spot...

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
