The Line: Arkansas State Red Wolves -- Over/Under:
The South Alabama Jaguars go on the road to tangle with the Arkansas State Red Wolves at ASU Stadium.
The South Alabama Jaguars face conference power Arkansas State needing to begin a season ending hot streak. The Jaguars saw their four game winning streak end in a 19-7 defeat at Louisiana-Lafayette in week ten. The Ragin' Cajuns owned the yardage battle 412-336 and had some ability to both run and throw. USA on the other hand struggled to move the chains on the ground and this teams needs to get something out of their rushing attack. The problem was the rushing attack didn't do much more then a few yards per carry which put the focus on moving the ball on the right arm of Brandon Bridge. Bridge completed 16-27 for 177 yards with a 12 yard touchdown to Jereme Jones with Matt Floyd throwing for 93 yards.
The Arkansas State Red Wolves are trying to stay in the Sun Belt race after losing their showdown with Louisiana-Lafayette and it was mission accomplished with a 42-28 victory over Idaho for their 4th win in five games. The Vandals definitely let this one get away with four lost fumbles and another four interceptions which negated their 449 yards. The Red Wolves mustered 442 yards with the ability to run and throw. Fredi Knighten was very strong through the air with an efficient 21-28 for 244 yards with seven players making receptions. Michael Gordon ran for 105 yards on 17 carries with five touchdowns as the Vandals had as much to to with the ASU win then the Red Wolves.
The under is 5-0 in Jaguars last 5 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game and is 8-0 in Jaguars last 8 games following a ATS loss while the under is 6-0 in Jaguars last 6 games following a S.U. loss. For Arkansas State the Red Wolves are 7-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record while the over is 5-0 in Red Wolves last 5 games in November and is 7-1 in Red Wolves last 8 conference games. I think the Jaguars have to get very good performances in all phases to beat Arkansas State on the road but I'm waiting on injury news and a line so please check back...
