The Appalachian State Mountaineers go on the road to face the Arkansas State Red Wolves in Tuesday college football.

The Appalachian State Mountaineers have racked up three straight wins following a one sided 52-7 victory against South Alabama. Appalachian State jumped to a 42-7 lead at the half behind a 517-308 yardage advantage.

Mountaineers quarterback Zac Thomas completed 8-18 for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns and two interceptions while Peyton Derrick was 2-2 for 23 yards and a score.

Thomas gave Appalachian State 77 rushing yards with a pair of trips to the end zone while Jalin Moore led the team with 123 yards and two TD’s. Corey Sutton and Collin Reed paced the Mountaineers receiving corps with a TD each.

The Arkansas State Red Wolves saw their chance at a third consecutive victory end in a 28-21 loss at Georgia Southern as a field goal road favorite. Arkansas State managed a 493-409 edge in real estate but saw the Eagles run for 348 yards.

Red Wolves quarterback Justice Hansen connected on 38-50 for 376 yards and a touchdown while running 16 times for 40 yards and a score.

Marcel Murray topped Arkansas State on the ground with only 40 yards on ten touches with Kirk Merritt caught eleven passes for 92 yards including an eleven yard touchdown.

The spread makes me cringe but Appalachian State has such potential I’ll lay the points while waiting for the total…

Pick:
Appalachian State -9

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
