The Line: Arkansas Razorbacks +13 -- Over/Under:
The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Alabama Crimson Tide face off on Saturday in a week 6 SEC college football battle.
The Arkansas Razorbacks are 4-1 this season as they get back to business against eh SEC after beating FCS Alcorn State last week. The Arkansas offense is averaging 36 points and 443.4 yards per game they have turned the ball over 7 times. Hogs QB Austin Allen has completed 67.6 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Arkansas rushing attack is anchored by Rawleigh Williams who has rushed for 559 yards and 4 touchdowns and Drew Morgan is the top receiver with 28 catches and a touchdown and Jeremy Sprinkle has 15 catches and 3 touchdowns. The Razorbacks defense is allowing 23.2 points and 374.4 yards per game with 5 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries, and 13 sacks. Dre Greenlaw leads Arkansas in tackles with 35, Brooks Ellis has 34 tackles, and Deatrich Wise has 22 tackles including 3 sacks. After losing their earlier test to Texas A&M a win over Alabama would be a huge boost to the Arkansas in the national rankings.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are off to a 5-0 start and they are the number one ranked team in the nation. The Alabama offense is averaging 44 points and 484.4 yards per game while they have turned the ball over 5 times. Tide QB Jalen Hurts has completed 62.2 percent of his passes with 7 touchdowns and 1 interceptions and he has rushed for 276 yards and 3 touchdowns. Damien Harris leads the Alabama rushing attack with 356 yards and a touchdown and Joshua Jacobs has 250 yards and 3 touchdowns while Calvin Ridley is far and away the top receiver with 31 catches and 3 touchdowns. The Alabama defense is allowing 13 points and 256.4 yards per game with 3 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries, and 17 sacks. Reuben Foster leads the Crimson Tide with 35 tackles, Shaun Hamilton has 25 tackles, and Jonathan Allen has 4 sacks. Alabama is looking to run the table and make it back-to-back National Championships.
Arkansas is 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, 6-2 against the spread in their last 8 SEC games, and 16-7 against the spread against a tea with a winning record. Alabama is 5-0 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, 8-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 6-2 against the spread in their last 8 road games. The home team is 5-2 against the spread in the last 7 meetings of these two teams.
I am concerned with Allen’s lack of mobility and it should end up costing him plenty here as he will get hit. This should be a physical battle but I can see Arkansas wearing down and the Tide pulling away late to get the win.
