SEC college football action pits the LSU Tigers at the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The third ranked LSU Tigers had nothing go favorably in a 29-0 defeat at the hands of top ranked Alabama as a two touchdown home dog on Saturday. LSU was outgained 576-196 with the Crimson Tide able to flex their muscle on the ground or in the air.
Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow was under pressure the entire contest as he managed to complete 18-35 for 184 yards and an interception while rushing 12 times for a loss of seven yards.
LSU didn’t often but didn’t do much when they did with Clyde Edwards-Helaire leading the ground game with 14 yards on six totes while catching two passes for 38 yards.
The Tigers had occasional success throwing to Justin Jefferson who hauled in six receptions for 81 yards but Alabama seemed to be ready for anything LSU tried.
The Arkansas Razorbacks went in to their bye week on a down note with a 45-31 loss to visiting Vanderbilt. Both squads totaled around 450 yards with Arkansas committing the only two turnovers of the game.
Ty Storey led the Razorbacks passing attack connecting on 23-36 for 240 yards and a pair of touchdowns and two costly interceptions while logging 24 rushing yards on five attempts.
Rakeem Boyd gave Arkansas 113 yards on the ground with a trip to the end zone on 19 carries followed by Chas Hayden with five tries for 70 yards and a TD. Cheyenne O’Grady led the Razorbacks receiving corps with 83 yards on six receptions including a TD grab with 14 seconds remaining.
