The Line: Arkansas Razorbacks -1.5 -- Over/Under: 47.5
The Arkansas Razorbacks and the LSU Tigers face off on Saturday in SEC college football action.
The Arkansas Razorbacks have played many of the top teams in the SEC close but they have come up short and are still looking for their first SEC win in two years. Arkansas is still looking to put it all together for one game as they lost to Mississippi State by seven on a very late touchdown and to Alabama by a single point after missing an extra point. The Arkansas offense is averaging 35.9 points and 451.6 yards per game and are led by QB Brandon Allen who has completed 57.8 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. Jonathan Williams has gained 877 yards rushing with 10 touchdowns and Alex Collins has gained 840 yards with 10 touchdowns and Keon Hatcher is the Razorbacks’ top receiver with 32 catches and three touchdowns. The Arkansas defense is allowing 24.7 points and 364.8 yards per game with 13 takeaways and 13 sacks. Martrell Spaight has 87 tackles, Brooks Ellis has 51 tackles, and Trey Flowers ahs 46 tackles with 9.5 of those going for a loss. Arkansas just doesn’t seem to do any of the details well and it costs them in the end.
The LSU Tigers are coming off of a heart breaking loss on Saturday as they let a late lead against Alabama get away and they lost the game in overtime. LSU has been improving all season and despite the loss to the Tide they are at the peak of their game right now. The LSU offense is averaging 30.8 points and 398.7 yards per game with Anthony Jennings playing he bulk of the way at QB where he as completed 47.1 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and six interceptions LSU has been rotating running back but Leonard Fournette leads he way with 736 yards and seven touchdowns and Travin Dural is LSU’s top receiver with 30 catches and seven touchdowns. The LSU defense allows just 16.3 points and 317.8 yards per game with 18 takeaways and 16 sacks. Kwon Alexander has 67 tackles, Danielle Hunter has 61 tackles, and Kendall Beckwith has 56 tackles. Earlier this season it looked like a lost year for LSU but now we can see the bright future ahead.
Arkansas is 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games, 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, and 4-1 against the spread following a loss. LSU is 5-1 against the spread following a loss, 1-4 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 6-2 against the spread in their last eight road games against a team with a winning home record. The underdog has covered the point spread in five of the last seven meetings of these two.
The total has already dropped three points and I see this one staying low as well and I still like the under here. I also have a pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
