The Connecticut Huskies visit Yankee Stadium to take the field with the Army Black Knights Saturday.
The Connecticut Huskies have their sights set on consecutive victories when they tangle with the Black Knights of Army Saturday. The Huskies surprised Central Florida 37-29 in week ten behind a rare offensive showing. The Knights easily outgained the Huskies 429-327 but four interceptions literally handed UConn the victory. UConn had a bit of balance with Deshon Foxx pacing the rushing attack with 102 yards on eleven touches including a 61 yard scoring jaunt. Chandler Whitmer completed 13-25 for 142 yards with 22 yard and 38 yard scoring strikes to Noel Thomas with Thomas leading the Huskies with four rceptions for 86 yards. The bottom line is when you give he ball away four times on the road an average team can beat a superior team.
The Army Black Knights look to finish the 2014 season strong beginning with the Connecticut Huskies in week eleven. The struggling Black Knights have dropped three in a row following a 23-6 loss to visiting Air Force. A 17-3 second half run did the trick for the Falcons who were airtight on defense with a 383-169 advatage in total yards. This game boiled down to the Black Knights struggling to move the chains with their option and when the option isn't producing the passing attack isn't equiped to do damage. The option totaled 122 yards and averaged just over three yards per touch with eleven players getting touches. Angel Santiago completed 2-11 for 27 yards which wasn't enough to get the Black Knights offense pointed in the right directiction.
The under is 4-1 in Huskies last 5 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and is 4-1 in Huskies last 5 games overall with the Huskies going 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 non-conference games. For Army the under is 11-1 in Black Knights last 12 neutral site games while the Black Knights are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while the Black Knights are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Head to head the Huskies are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings while the favorite is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings. I don't think this will be the favorite game to watch for college football fans but if you are a Connecticut fan it might be...
