The Line: Auburn Tigers +2 -- Over/Under: 53.5
The Auburn Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs face off on Saturday in a SEC college football matchup.
The Auburn Tigers are coming off of an upset win over Texas A&M that ended a two game losing streak and gave them a 5-4 record overall. The Auburn offense is averaging 27.1 points and 379.1 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 10 times. Auburn QB Sean White has completed 59.2 percent of his passes with one touchdown and two interceptions. Peyton Barber is the Tigers leading rusher with 828 yards and 12 touchdowns and Ricardo Louis is the top receiver with 36 catches and two touchdowns. The Auburn defense is allowing 27.2 points and 430.6 yards per game with 11 interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and 13 sacks. Johnathan Ford leads Auburn with 96 tackles, Kris Frost has 74 tackles, and Casanova McKinzy has 59 tackles including 4 sacks. Auburn is a win away from being bowl eligible.
The Georgia Bulldogs are 6-3 this season but it is a far cry from where they hoped they would be. The Georgia offense is averaging 29.1 points and 402.1 yards per game and they have turned the ball over 16 times. Maligned Bulldog QB Greyson Lambert has completed 62.7 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. Sony Michel is UGA’s top option rushing the football and he has rushed for 718 yards and five touchdowns and Malcolm Mitchell has 43 catches and four touchdowns. The Georgia defense is allowing 18.4 points and 305.3 yards per game with eight interceptions, six fumble recoveries, and 16 sacks. Jake Ganus is Georgia’s leading tackler with 63, Tim Kimbrough has 53 tackles, and Leonard Floyd has 49 tackles. Georgia suffered the big injury this year losing Nick Chubb but there have been several other issues, mainly turning the ball over.
Auburn is 3-11 against the spread in their last 14 games, 3-8 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-7 against the spread in their last eight home games. Georgia is 5-0 against the spread in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record, 3-7 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, and 1-5 against the spread following a win. The home team as covered the point spread in seven of the last eight meetings of these two.
I don't see a ton of scoring in this one so my free pick will be a lean to the under which is at 53.5. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area.
