The Line: Auburn Tigers -14 -- Over/Under:
The Auburn Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks face off on Saturday at Jordan Hare Stadium for a SEC college football matchup.
The Auburn Tigers had a bye last week as they look to bounce back from their first regular season loss over the past two seasons as they turned the ball over early and were unable to come back at Mississippi State. While Auburn took the loss they are far from eliminated from the National Title picture, as they need to win out. The Auburn offense is averaging 38.8 points and 487.8 yards per game and they are led by QB Nick Marshall who has completed 55.4 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions and he has rushed for 492 yards and four touchdowns. Cameron Artis-Payne leads Auburn is rushing with 664 yards and five touchdowns and D’Haquille Williams has 31 catches and five touchdowns to lead Auburn in receiving. The Auburn defense allows 18.3 points and 333.7 yards with 10 interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and 11 sacks. Johnathan Ford has 41 tackles, Cassanova McKinzy has 40 tackles, and Jonathan Jones has three interceptions. Auburn will need to avoid the mistakes if they hope to get back to their winning ways.
The South Carolina Gamecocks have lost their last two SEC games but they are coming off of a win against FCS Furman. South Carolina has three losses total and the offense is averaging 35.1 points and 450.9 yards per game. QB Dylan Thompson has been a disappointment completing 61.3 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. Mike Davis is the Gamecocks leading rusher with 662 yards and eight touchdowns and Pharoh Cooper has 33 receptions with four of them being touchdowns. Defensively South Carolina has been below their own standards allowing 31.4 points per game and 421.3 yards with four interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and eight sacks. Skai Morre as 43 tackles, T.J. Gurley has 42 tackles, and Gerald Dixon has 25 tackles. South Carolina has been a major disappointment this season.
Auburn is 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 home games, 14-3 against the spread in their last 17 games, and 4-1 against the spread following a loss. South Carolina is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games, 1-5 against the spread in their last six SEC games, and 0-4 against the spread in their last four games. South Carolina is 1-5 against the spread in their last six games.
South Carolina is down but this is a ton of points t be laying. Look for the Gamecocks to be able to run the football and get the cover but not the win.
