The Line: Baylor Bears -36.5 -- Over/Under:
The Iowa State Cyclones and Baylor Bears square off Saturday afternoon at McLane Stadium.
The Iowa State Cyclones could use their first road victory after losing four of their last five games. Sam Richardson is completing 62.3 percent of his passes for 1,408 yards, eight touchdowns and six interceptions. Richardson has three touchdown passes in his last two games. Allen Lazard and Quenton Bundrage have combined for 670 receiving yards and five touchdowns while D'Vario Montgomery has 16 receptions. The Iowa State Cyclones ground game is averaging 170 yards per contest, and Mike Warren leads the way with 652 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, ISU is allowing 32 points and 461.8 yards per game. Brian Peavy leads the Cyclones with 41 tackles, Dale Pierson has six sacks and Jomal Wiltz has three pass deflections. Gabe Luna is questionable with an ankle injury.
The Baylor Bears look to remain unbeaten and haven’t lost a home game since Oct of 2012. Seth Russell is completing 63.2 percent of his passes for 1,907 yards, 27 touchdowns and five interceptions. Russell currently leads the country in touchdown passes. Corey Coleman and Jay Lee have combined for 1,371 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns while KD Cannon has 20 receptions. The Baylor Bears ground game is averaging 348.6 yards per contest, and Shock Linwood leads the way with 803 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, Baylor is allowing 24.8 points and 381.5 yards per game. Grant Campbell leads the Bears with 47 tackles, Shawn Oakman has three sacks and Xavien Howard has three interceptions. Byron Bonds is questionable with a hand injury.
The Cyclones are 6-17-3 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Bears are 26-6 ATS in their last 32 home games and 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 games overall. The Cyclones are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Baylor and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings overall.
Baylor only beat Iowa State last season by 21 points and four of the last five meetings have been decided by 23 or less points. While Baylor is an offensive machine, the Cyclones were able to hang around with TCU and Texas Tech for large part of those contests. Iowa State isn't terrible and has a history of competing against Baylor.
I'll take a shot with the points here if forced to pick this game.
