CFB | SMU Mustangs (1-0) at Baylor Bears (1-0)

The SMU Mustangs and Baylor Bears meet Saturday afternoon at McLane Stadium on FS1.

The SMU Mustangs look for a quick 2-0 start after beating up on North Texas opening week. Matt Davis is completing 47.1 percent of his passes for 155 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Davis has two touchdown passes in his last three games. Courtland Sutton and James Proche have combined for 235 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Ryan Becker has one reception. The SMU Mustangs ground game is averaging 272 yards per contest, and Xavier Jones leads the way with 115 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, SMU is allowing 21 points and 394 yards per game. Justin Lawler leads the Mustangs with eight tackles, Jackson Mitchell has one sack and Horace Richardson has two interceptions.

The Baylor Bears look to build on their opening week blowout win over the Northwestern State Demons. Seth Russell is completing 70 percent of his passes for 163 yards, four touchdowns and zero interception. Russell has 11 touchdown passes in his last three games. KD Cannon and Lynx Hawthorne have combined for 91 receiving yards and one touchdown while Quan Jones has four receptions. The Baylor Bears ground game is averaging 275 yards per contest, and Shock Linwood leads the way with 97 yards on nine carries. Defensively, Baylor is allowing seven points and 78 yards per game. Taylor Young leads the Bears with six tackles, K.J. Smith has one sack and Jameson Houston has one pass deflection.

The Mustangs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Bears are 27-10 ATS in their last 37 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Mustangs are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings.

If Baylor showed one thing in the opening week, it's that the offense isn't going to slow down regardless of what's going outside of football and changes with the coaching staff. The Bears get touchdowns. SMU doesn't have the horses to keep up with Baylor and we've seen that the last two years as they've been outscored 101-21 the last two matchups.

Give me Baylor in a blowout.
