Boston College will try to bounce back as they host the Northern Illinois Hukies Saturday.
Boston College is coming off a tough loss last Friday to Florida St 14-0. Boston College tried to pull up the upset but was unable to score against FSU. Quarterback Darius Wade had a rough game before getting hurt. Running back Myles Willis couldn’t get much going on the ground carrying the ball 8 times for just 40 yards. Bobby Wolford led the Eagles in receiving with 2 catches for 26 yards. Boston College will have a much more winnable game this week when they take on Northern Illinois.
Northern Illinois is coming off a game where they almost pulled off the upset of the year against Ohio State. NIU ended up losing 20-13. Quarterback Drew Hare went 14/31 for 80 yards with 2 interceptions. Running back Joel Bouagnon carried the ball 21 times for 78 yards. Wide Receiver Aregeros Turner was the leading receiver catching 3 passes for 37 yards. Northern Illinois defense is what kept them in the game. NIU forced a total of 5 turnovers including 3 interceptions by Shawun Lurry and Sean Folliard. NIU will get to face an easier opponent in Boston College this weekend.
NIU is 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 games on field turf. The Huskies are 4-1 against the spread vs. a team with a winning record. Boston College is 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Eagles are 6-1 against the spread in their last 7 games vs. a MAC opponent.
Northern Illinois played some of their best defense last week against Ohio State. If NIU can play like that on defense again and get their offense scoring they will be a hard team to beat. Boston College was beat up by Florida State and they lost quarterback Darius Wade for the season. I dont trust BC without their starting quarterback. Take NIU and the points.
