The Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Boston College Eagles will meet up on the college football circuit Saturday.
Wake enters this one at 4-0 so far. The Deacons have taken out Utah State, Rice, North Carolina and Elon in succession this season.
In the win last weekend, Wake Forest QB Jamie Newman tossed for 351 yards, five scores and an INT. Kenneth Walker had 91 yards and a score on the ground and Scotty Washington led the receivers with 141 yards and two TDs.
Over on the Boston College side, they’re 3-1 this year. The Eagles fell to Kansas in Week 3 but otherwise have beaten Virginia Tech, Richmond and Rutgers.
In the win over the Knights, Boston College QB Anthony Brown tossed for 159 yards, but most of the load was held up by AJ Dillon, who rushed for 150 yards and two scores.
The Deacons are 4-0 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 4-0-1 ATS in their last four in September. Wake is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four road games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 conference games and 14-4-1 ATS in their last 19 after an ATS win. Boston College is 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 on turf and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
Outside of a couple nail-biter moments here and there, when it comes to Wake Forest’s performance this season there’s not much to complain about really. They’ve posted at least 38 points in three of their four games.
As for Boston College, they’ve had a few stumbles but are playing well overall. Still, I’m going to go with Wake Forest and their potent offense on the cover here.
