The Bowling Green Falcons once again had their high powered offensive on display and defeated the UMass Minutemen 62-38 this past Saturday. Leading the way for the Falcons was QB Matt Johnson who completed 33 of 39 passes for 450 yards, 5 TD, and 1 Int. Bowling Green has been outstanding on the offensive end this season as they are averaging 40.7 ppg on 604.7 yards per game (435.3 passing, 169.3 rushing). Leading the way for the defense has been LB Austin Valdez (61 tackles) and DL Taylor Royster (23 tackles, 3 sacks).
The Zips are 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games following a SU win of more than 20 points however, just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 conference games. The Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall however, just 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 conference games.
Bowling Green has been almost unstoppable on the offensive end this season however, they have yet to play a defensive that is as talented and experienced as the Zips. The Zips held Bowling Green to just 27 points last season in their contest last season and as Akron showed against Eastern Michigan that they can put up points against a weak defense, I’m going to take the Zips and the points in this one. Take Akron and the points.
